Roar & Snore at San Diego Wild Animal Park

So for my b-day present (part 578) to myself - P and I went to the Wild Animal Park's Roar & Snore. Sleep over in tents at the park (tents like Yosemite's camp curry). Listen to the animals all night. It sounded great! It was OK. I couldn't really hear any animals, other than human beings having sex nearby and the carts at 5am bringing workers in to get the powdered eggs and cold pancakes made for the group breakfast. The premium tent was $210 (plus park entrance of $40). So total $250! This gave us a "gift bag" of a book, towel and carry-all, placement by the elephant enclosure (but I couldn't hear them) and a platform bed (that was nice rather than being on the ground). But then the alcohol was extra and the night-time walks since we couldn't bring a flashlight meant you couldn't really see anything well. The best part of the weekend was adding on the photo-safari. We got in a truck and went into the animal park enclosure and were able to feed the giraffe's. That was cool. They came right up to the truck and grabbed the leafs from our hands. I'm adding a few photos of the day. I won't do the overnight again but feeding the giraffes I would.

I agree feeding giraffes is way cool. Sorry you couldn't hear the safari animals. I bet driving in the enclosure was terrific. Happy Birthday Sallie
